I am a retired General Manager of Model Making at Nissan Design International, and am currently operating my own business, Motion Research, in San Diego, California. My primary interest is to continue to be creatively involved in the Design World.

In pursuing an interest in education, I have been a part time faculty member of Rhode Island School of Design, Industrial Design Department, teaching in Providence, Rhode Island and Milan, Italy. I have also taught at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco since retiring. I have  lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design, The Harvard Business School Graduate Department, The University of California San Diego, The Academy of Art University San Francisco and the Savannah School of Art and Design.

My experience spans 40 years  working in the Automotive Design Industry. Most of that time was spent at Nissan. I was a founding member of Nissan Design International along with Jerry Hershberg, Tom Semple and Allen Flowers. During this time I was responsible for all phases of the Modelmaking Discipline, including Nissan Concept Car Development, project management and resourcing. This also included representing the Modelmaking interests of Nissan Design International in Europe and Japan. During that time there was also Automotive Wind tunnel experience at Lockheed, Cal Tech, San Diego State and the University of Oregon.

I am particularly interested in the Evolution of the Design Process, the Emotional Content of Form, and the Philosophy of Design.
